Overview
We developed a mobile application that allows users to book professional chefs for home parties, family gatherings, and private dining experiences. The platform simplified chef discovery, scheduling, menu selection, and secure online payments through an intelligent booking ecosystem.
The Challenge
Booking a chef for a home event usually meant phone calls and back-and-forth over availability and menus. The client wanted a marketplace where users could find a verified chef nearby, pick a menu, and lock in a booking without any manual coordination on the operations side.
The Solution
We built a React Native app backed by Node/Express, using Kafka to queue and process chef-assignment events at volume and Redis to keep availability lookups fast. Geo-location search surfaces nearby chefs, Socket.IO pushes live booking status updates, and Razorpay handles payment at the point of booking — all running on Dockerized services behind Nginx.
